Fun pictures

Here are a few fun pictures from the last few days. Things are going really well here. We are settling in and enjoying the sunshine. We have been going to the pool and Lyssie is getting tan as a cookie! Jamey is loving his job and he's very happy right now. He'll be working cardiac stepdown after July.

First Haircut!

So the day has finally come for us to get Lyssie's first haircut. I can not believe it! Her hair was constantly in her face and it was uneven so we had it shaped into an adorable little bob. She looks super cute and was pretty good during the process after the hairstylist gave her a lollipop. She wouldn't sit in the little car though and instead sat with me. Jamey got her ice cream afterwards and she kept telling him "I's PRETTY!" Pretty sweet cause he just kept replying "Yes baby girl is so Pretty!"

Our Veggies!

Last year I had these fabulous raised beds but this year we didn't have the time or the energy to do all that so we are improvising! Our garden is a little bit redneck this year, but hey so am I! My mother-in-law told me about doing veggies in soil bags and so we have our peppers, eggplant and okra in those.
Our squash and zuchnini is in what used to be Alyssa's kiddie pool. There is a crack in the bottom and it doesn't hold water now so it made a perfect little garden tub.
Our herbs are all in pots, we have basil, thyme, oregano, rosemary and I wanted cilantro but it's already too hot for that so we will just have to wait until the fall.
And our Mato's are in barrels! We have Better Boys, and grape varieties this year.
I don't have much of a green thumb but I do like having fresh veggies out of my own garden and Alyssa really seems to like the digging and the picking that goes on. She also made some mud pies and had a little dirt snack along the way!

Settling in

I'm happy to report that life as we once knew it is slowly but surely returning. I have unpacked all but the garage/attic (which we probably don't need anyway!) and have my honey do list all ready for Jamey to finish hanging up my pictures so home sweet home is just that again! Alyssa is settling in and loving our new neighborhood. We have the best neighbors! Everyone is so friendly! Alyssa has turned into a little water nymph and spends large parts of everyday outside playing in her little kiddy pool. Next week Jamey and I are going to get her a swing set and she'll be in heaven. This weekend she and I are going to finish putting in our garden while Daddy works and it'll finally feel like home.
We did have a little bump in our road as I was super sick this week and spent Tuesday in the hospital with an acute peritonsillar abcess. I didn't even know there was such a thing! It had to be drained (which was HORRIBLE and I who like to think of myself as having a pretty high pain tolerance cried like a baby). I am on a huge dose of antibiotics for the next 2 weeks and am feeling like a person again today though. I still can't eat much more than milkshakes and mashed potatoes but hey I'm not complaining to much! I went back to the ENT doctor today and they had to reopen the incision in the back of my throat and I'll have a recheck again next week. If it's still swollen I may have to have surgery, but we are hoping for the best and I'm convinced that I am a fast healer. Special thanks to my Army sister, Bambi who volunteered to babysit Alyssa for us while all this was going on.
Here are some pics of me and my San Antonio Rose just because!

Home at Last!

So I'm behind on my blogging! We are finally here in San Antonio, and so very happy to be here. All our stuff arrived Tuesday and we've been settling in. My wonderful in-laws have been in and helping with little bit while I unpack and do the other things that need to be done to get our life situated. It's good to be home! Jamey graduated today so I'll have to put up pictures. Here's a couple of pictures from Jamey's reunion with his baby girl.
