Combat boots and sunbathing

So I am a bit behind on my blogging! Lately we have been spending lots of time outdoors and at the pool. Lyssa just might turn into a very adorable fish! We had the pleasure of having my almost 18 year old, newly graduated cousin Kelsey come and stay with us for a week last week and she kept us going! We had so much fun with Kelsey, even though she did force me to eat enough Ben and Jerry's ice cream to last me a lifetime! Jamey had a surprise BBQ over the weekend and invited all 15 of his classmates and their families over for dinner Saturday night. (He gave me about 2 days notice...) We ended up with about 8 of his coworkers and their families in attendance and it was a lot of fun. It gave me the chance to meet the men and women that he has been working with for the last few months and are stationed here at Fort Sam Houston with him and their wives/husbands/children.
Our garden is blooming and here is the first Eggplant! We would have tomatoes but some short blonde/blue eyed child picks and EATS the green ones so they never have a chance to ripen up! I still can't believe that she EATS the green tomatoes....
Lyssa still LOVES shoes and everyday when her Daddy gets home from work she puts on his combat boots and stomps around the house in them. I am continually amazed that she can actually walk around in them, but she can!

And here are a few random pictures that I took today while we were playing outside. It was about 110 degrees per our outdoor thermometer and it was HOT so we play outside a while come in, cool off, drink water and head back out for more fun in the sun!

Her sun me when she's a teenager cause she already has this down and she's not quite 2 years old!!!

Daddy's little girl

Lyssie likes to do whatever her Papa does. Including helping him with his workout!

Our little cow girl is into Horsey's! Fort Sam Houston offers pony rides at their equestrian center every weekend. They also do trail rides, and riding lessons as well. It's a really nice center and we've visited one other time but today was our first attempt at a pony ride. Lyssie loved the Horsey's but just told us "NO!" when we asked her if she wanted to ride the Horse. She did however want her daddy to be a horsey, but riding the real horsey didn't happen today. She got to pet them and talk to them and she loved that. We had a really good time while we were there. All in all worth the trip and we plan on taking her back very soon for some additional time with the "Horsey's"

Stylin with her shades on the way over.

This is Scooter and such a sweetie!!!!

Stain fighting power!

So my mother-in-law gave me this recipe for stain remover ages ago and I swear by the stuff. It will literally get ANYTHING out of your clothes. (And Alyssa frequently test this!!!) I have shared it with some of you but here's the recipe for others who would like a super cheap, super good stain remover.

Prewash for Clothes

1/3 cup non sudseng ammonia
1/3 cup dish detergent
1/3 cup water

Mix and spray on clothes just before washing! Couldn't be easier or cheaper!
